Environmental Chicago is a three-pronged entity. Environmental trident!

#1 - Bridge the sectors. Beth has been working in the environmental field since her early days volunteering as a teenager for the Cook County Forest Preserves. Her resume bounces between natural resources and environmental education. Throughout her career, she noticed that these sectors were rarely at the same events. Awareness of one another’s efforts can only help. As we work towards a common goal, we can use all the help we can get.

#2 - Elevate the stories amazing people. We are surrounded by passionate people doing really incredible work. These stories need to be shared and applauded. Staying informed and engaged locally is so important. Local action is empowering.

#3 - The environmental sector is so broad, Beth wanted to create a space where in one night you can talk to someone in solar energy, someone from Friends of the Chicago River and someone who works for the park district? Students or young professionals planning on embarking on an environmental career are faced with so many options. Hopefully they can get a better sense of the scope of interests and opportunities available in the Chicago environmental world.

The support of friends made this vision possible.
